Training in RGN
How published plans, private personal records, Journey milestones and previously issued links fit together across RGN and the established Training service.
Content reviewed · Earlier notice
A published plan is a guide. Your saved copy and progress are your own private records.
Your whole Journey starts Private. New automatic Training cards omit maps, activity links and private notes.
Existing links keep their access and expiry, and can be stopped. New personal sharing is unavailable.
Published Training plans are templates you can read without joining. When personal-plan copying is available to your membership, you choose the relevant date and confirm before RGN creates a separate private copy. Later changes to a published template do not rewrite your saved copy.
Eligible RGN members with existing Training access can also open personal plans already held by the shared Training service, record what happened, and add, edit, move or remove individual sessions. RGN uses those same records rather than copying, converting or regenerating the plan. A saved change is available through RGN and the established Training service.
Your personal schedule, progress, notes and activity details stay private. Using Training does not give a coach or another member access to them.
Completing an eligible session automatically adds a Training card to your Journey. New cards show controlled activity and planned-workout facts, without maps, activity links or private notes. A scheduled date describes the plan, not proof of when an activity took place.
Your Journey stays Private until you choose its visibility. That choice covers existing and future journal entries and their Home appearances; earlier owner-only check-ins stay owner-only. You can add words or remove the card in Journey. Historical cards retain only their previously selected information.
You may save an optional activity link. When you add or change a supported Strava activity link, RGN may request an optional preview from that activity page. If a preview is unavailable, the link can still be saved. Existing saved preview images can also be displayed.
Previously issued session links can retain their already-selected checked provider map and link image. New personal-sharing map selections are unavailable. New automatic Journey cards remain map-free. RGN does not use a provider account connection. Fetching provider images and opening external links involves the provider and its privacy practices.
Your password-confirmed RGN data download includes personal copies of starter plans made in RGN, your existing Training plans and sessions, progress and notes, sharing records, access details and waiting-list details linked to you. Retained owner Training records remain in the export even if Training access is no longer active.
The download does not move or remove those records, give access to Training routes or change another person's permissions. Review the complete export scope in Account.
Closing RGN removes your RGN membership and presence, including your Run Card and photo, discovery visibility, connections, Journey content, Community participation, private RGN Quiz history and RGN Pathway completion history under the current account lifecycle.
It does not close your shared Runners Gateway sign-in or erase records kept for other Runners Gateway services. Pathway enrolments and lesson progress, Monthly Focus and Challenge enrolments and check-ins, and your Training plans, progress, notes, sharing records, access details and waiting-list details are kept for continuity. Integrated session links are withdrawn on RGN closure; legacy plan links remain subject to their separate sharing controls.
RGN reports membership closure complete only after its current deletion checks succeed. Read the authoritative current details in Account and Privacy. Contact us if you need help with retained Training records or separate shared-identity deletion.
A saved schedule is an editable starting plan, not individual coaching, medical advice or a performance guarantee. Use your judgement and seek appropriate professional advice for health, injury or suitability concerns. An ordinary missed session is simply part of your own record.
You can continue through the original Training site if the RGN surface is unavailable. For access, correction, export, closure or privacy help, email hello@runnersgateway.com.
This current explanation does not replace or record new acceptance of the Terms or Privacy.
The notice published on 29 August 2026 is retained as service history. Its statement that RGN did not add profile activity described the service at that time and is not the current Journey explanation. The current sections above describe how Training works now.
Training continuity notice
This notice explains how continuing an existing Training plan in RGN works while the established Training service remains available.
Updated 29 August 2026
Eligible RGN members with existing Training access can open their own saved plans, record what happened, and add, edit, move or remove individual sessions. RGN uses the same Training records as the established Training site. It does not copy, convert or regenerate your plan. A saved change is visible through both services.
Training remains private and runner-controlled. Using it in RGN does not publish your plan or progress, add profile activity, or give a coach or another member access. You can deliberately create a read-only link for a complete plan or one session, choose which optional details to include, set an expiry, replace the link or stop sharing. Anyone with an active link can view only the selected shared information; sharing does not grant access to your private Training area.
You may save an optional activity link. When you add or change a supported Strava activity link, RGN may request an optional preview from that activity page. If a preview is unavailable, the link can still be saved. Existing saved preview images can also be displayed.
Saving, opening or displaying a third-party activity link or remote preview involves the external provider and may make ordinary request information, such as an IP address, available to it. RGN does not use a provider API account connection and does not download, store, transform or proxy the remote preview image. RGN does not control the external page, image or provider privacy practices.
Your password-confirmed RGN data download includes your existing Training plans, sessions, share records, access-grant record, and any owner-linked Training waitlist record. This includes your retained Training records even if Training access is no longer active. The export does not give you access to Training routes or change another person's permissions.
Closing RGN membership removes your RGN membership, profile and photo, and private RGN Quiz history under the existing closure process. It retains your existing Training plans, sessions, share records, access grant and linked waitlist record, and your shared Runners Gateway sign-in, while the established Training service remains operational.
Closing RGN therefore does not delete your Training records. Contact us if you need help with Training records or shared identity deletion. RGN confirms membership closure only after its existing deletion checks finish.
Your saved schedule is an editable starting plan, not medical advice or a performance guarantee. Use your judgement and seek appropriate professional advice for health, injury or suitability concerns. An ordinary missed session is simply part of your own record.
You can continue through the established Training site if this RGN surface is unavailable. For access, correction, export, closure or privacy help, email hello@runnersgateway.com.
